FMD is pleased to release its newest addition to the FMD prover family. The Extended Volume (EV) Meter Prover Line provides innovative design enhancements to improve the proving process for manufactured pulse meters. The flow tube is elongated which provides a 50% increase in volume capacity, allowing for larger sample sizes and the extended flight times needed.
The FMD Extended Volume Meter Prover Lines is available in three sizes, the FMD-060EV, the FMD-090EV and the FMD-200EV. See below for sizes, flow rates and extended volumes.
| Model Number | Flow Rates | Displaced Volume – Gallons | Displaced Volume – Litres |
|---|---|---|---|
| FMD-060EV | 8500 BPH, 6000 GPM, 1350 M3/HR | Primary 75 – Secondary 60 | Primary 290 – Secondary 225 |
| FMD-090EV | 12850 BPH, 9000 GPM, 2000 M3/HR | Primary 120 – Secondary 90 | Primary 450 – Secondary 340 |
| FMD-200EV | 28500 BPH, 20000 GPM, 4500 M3/HR | Primary 210 – Secondary 170 | Primary 800 – Secondary 640 |
The FMD Line of Extended volume provers is ideal for proving the following flow meter types:
- Coriolis
- Ultrasonic
- Helical Turbine
When proving Ultrasonic or Coriolis meters one of the primary meter-proving sizing characteristics is “Flight Time” or sample time between detector switches. Additionally, when proving helical turbine meters pulses per pass or increased prover volume is a major factor. The EV Line of Provers takes the already successful design of the FMD Meter Provers and stretches it in order to achieve longer flight times and more prover volume. Typically with ultrasonic
and Coriolis meters 0.8 to 1.0 second flight times are desired and FMD-EV Prover Line can achieve these results.
